Foot and ankle problems in Children

The biomechanical profile for youngsters can be very different to the adult model of alignment and movement profiles.
Our youngsters go through various developmental phases and these manifest themselves in altered walking and running patterns, and it is key to recognise this and also understand what is required to resolve these phases.
Similarly, there are specific foot, ankle and knee symptoms that occur within this age group that can significantly affect their activity levels and sport and early assessment and diagnosis is an important factor in minimising these problems.
It is crucial to have an appropriate level of experience and expertise when dealing with youngsters and to understand the challenges associated with building the right type of management plans to deal with their mechanical problems.
Mark led a specific Paediatric clinic at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and continues to work closely with Orthopaedic and Physiotherapy specialists in this area, providing expert assessment and management for children specific conditions, and this service is available across specific units in Birmingham, Warwickshire and London.
The specific paediatric clinics that Mark can see children and young adults are based at Halo Physiotherapy (Kenilworth) & Tudor Physiotherapy in Stratford on Avon for Warwickshire based patients and 22 George Road in Edgbaston for children requiring an appointment in Birmingham.
Pure Sports Medicine in West London is Mark's base for his patient group based around the capital.
